Stephen A Pearson
Vice President of Operations Geology and New Business
Stephen began his geologic career in 1976. He has worked the geology and on location in such diverse settings as Texas Gulf Coast, offshore Louisiana, Ventura County and offshore California, Kurdistan, offshore US Atlantic margin, and Central Europe. During that time, Mr. Pearson worked for Exxon and multiple family E&P companies, directing their geological efforts in exploration and production.
From 2007 to 2010, Stephen was resident in Budapest, Hungary for Hungarian Horizon Energy as the Exploration Manager for the Pannonian Basin. He managed the Budapest-based team with an annual budget of $50 - $80 million for drilling exploration wells and acquiring 3-D Seismic data. Significant reserves were added during his tenure. He also led HHE’s Business Development teams and has extensive regional contacts in Central & Eastern Europe.
From 2010 to 2012, Stephen was the Exploration Manager for GEP (Kurdistan) and during the discovery of the Atrush Field.
In 2012, Mr. Pearson was a Founding Partner of Sand Hill Petroleum BV.
Stephen has a Bachelor’s Degree in Geology from Monmouth College, Illinois.
